PRESS RELEASE
Greenville, SC April 11, 2019 – ProActive Response Group, a local organization that provides Active Shooter Response Training to schools, companies, religious establishments, and industrial facilities, has received official recognition by SLED for its training curriculum, which is compliant with SLED standards. ProActive Response Group is the first organization in the state of South Carolina to hold this privilege.
SLED evaluated the training and materials and determined that the curriculum was “developmentally appropriate” and properly focused toward the staff with the intent of protecting students.
ProActive’s co-founders, Andy Sexton and Chad Ayers, are both retired police officers and SWAT team members who have developed the Active Shooter Response Training curriculum and now teach classes throughout South Carolina. “We’re honored to have achieved this recognition and look forward to providing lifesaving and empowering training to schools across this great state,” said Chad Ayers, Co-founder of ProActive Response Group.
ProActive Response Group’s compliance status with SLED is valid for one year and must be reevaluated and renewed annually.
Since Governor Henry McMaster signed into law Senate Bill 709 (Act 256) on July 12, 2018, South Carolina public schools are required to hold two active shooter/intruder drills per year. Any school that would like to receive Active Shooter Response Training through ProActive Response Group can contact them by phone at (888) 512-3530 or by email at info@proactiverg.com.
